OVER 100 CRACK USERS ARE COLLECTED IN THE SLUM

The Secretary of Public Security of Rio de Janeiro, José Mariano Beltrame, announced on Sunday afternoon (14) the occupation of the Wet Rat slum on the outskirts of the city, next to the set of the Jacarezinho slums, occupied in the early hours of Sunday by forces of police, who also occupied the slums of Manguinhos, in the same region.

In an interview on Twitter by the state government, Beltrame said, "is planned a permanent occupation" in the slum area of Wet Rat.

"It was not done yet because it has to be done in time, without magic or pyrotechnics. Occupation involves a great deal of police institutions and the hope of the people. So no point in stretching the project without condition to give reassurance to the population. The occupation is a permanent attitude, "he said.
