Minister Damares Alves
The Minister of Women, Family and Human Rights, Damares Alves, was in Buenos Aires on May 30, where she met with members of the Celeste Provida Party, in the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina. At the meeting, which aimed to establish partnerships in defense of life from conception, the minister said that Brazil's official position is pro-life.
"This government defends life from conception," she said. "The abortion debate in Brazil is in two stages. It is in the Legislative, where we have proposals being discussed, and in the Judiciary. The Executive will not interfere and as a minister I will not do the militancy. My story is known, my pro-life stance is known. " |
